Flogging does not have to be painful at all, in fact I’ve heard more than one person say that it can be like a massage. The pain level involved in flogging depends entirely on the person swinging the flogger, if they are smart and experienced and know their implements and control their swing flogging is quite enjoyable. The size and material of the flogger itself is also a factor but any implement can be used with a light hand.
