I’m about to board a plane, and I am looking for advice on how to travel with my floggers without running into trouble. I love my floggers and I would be devastated should I lose them, either because they were stolen in my luggage or simply seized after a search.
would my floggers get me in trouble at customs (Canada to Dominican Republic)
is it “safe” to pack them in my checked luggage?
would they get me to be picked for a search?
are they an item that could be seized for some reason at customs?
how to pack my set of floggers in a way to protect them and make sure they get through customs in a way that I would not raise flags or alarms.
Thanks for your input!March 3, 2015 at 4:43 am #3084
It is “safe” to pack them in your checked luggage. It would not be picked to be searched, since it is not a weapon, and does not have a blade. I have flown with my flogger for years, and have never had any problem. Even if you packed them in your carry-on, you might be slightly embarrassed if they take them out of your bag, but they have no reason to confiscate them, for the above reasons.March 3, 2015 at 4:45 am #3085
No idea what Dominican Republic laws are. I’ve been told if you say they’re for private use only you’re OK. If it can be viewed as a weapon, best to check it, but then you risk the authorities somewhere searching your bag and find it missing with no recourse when you land.
I’d not travel with my favorites because no matter where you are if the authorities want to confiscate them, they’ll confiscate them. Arguing about it in a foreign country is probably not a good idea.March 3, 2015 at 4:47 am #3086
Thanks for the input. My floggers don’t have any fancy materials. Leather and suede from cow hide, handles of wood with lead weights. Pretty standard issue stuff. I usually lock my checked luggage and don’t pack anything more valuable than a hair dryer and my straightening iron.
I’ll gently wrap the falls around the handles and pack them next to my travel iron and hair dryer and all the hair stuff I like… (metal) hair spray cans. I also pack several (metal) spray tanning lotion cans too; it should make it all look like it’s simply a woman’s stuff… nothing special, nothing worth looking at twice lol!March 3, 2015 at 4:52 am #3087
I have a smaller travel kit for My floggers that I pack inside My clothes in My bigger suitcase. It protects them and My crops in case the bag gets dropped, thrown or tossed on the ground. I’d feel better with them in My smaller bag next to My seat, but I won’t risk airports confiscating them because of new strict laws, I take a lot less toys on planes then I’d normally use and as much as I love them, I try and leave the best ones home just in case (God forbid) they lost My luggage. It’s also good to know tricks and things you can make kinky when you get there in case you can’t bring any toys with you. Like hangers, clothespins, belts, handkerchiefs, for caning, flogging, bondage and beating.
