Well, it all depends …..

Firstly and above all your rope must have a breaking strain fit for its purpose. If it is to be load bearing, it must have a breaking hugely in excess of any anticipated load.

Secondly, the rope must feel comfortable to use.

If you use poly rope it should not feel rough – the rougher it is the more likely to incur rope burns if it slides over skin. All poly ropes are more susceptible to causing friction burns.

For general purpose “just tying up” I would probably suggest you start with a few lengths of natural hemp 6mm rope. Natural hemp has a nice feel, is generally relatively smooth and less susceptible to causing any rope burns. Depending on the ties you will want a selection of lengths. 10m for complex ties and shorter for more general use.

Make sure you have something handy to cut the ropes in an emergency and make sure you know a good range of suitable knots remembering that where there is a loop around a body part it should not become more constricted under tension.

Listen to the sub – they will know when it becomes “too much”; “painful” and potentially dangerous.

Keep googling as well – there is a lot of good advice out there (and some poor advice… be warned)

for me it’s pretty clear, to have the full experience, smell and surrounding/looks are also very important. so I will always go for natural fibers. I had some other robes, but i have thrown them away. Now my collection is mainly cotton, jute and hemp.
Cotton, is the soft one, leaves almost no marks, so can be very handy if you have to be carefull. but it slips a lot and is weak.
Jute is my favorite rope kind. love the smell/feel etc. but still it is not the strongest naturalrope.
Hemp is my main suspension rope kind. it’s strong, feels good, bit rougher then the other two, but great to bind with.
next to those three I also have some very rough natural rope made of a special grass kind. not comfortable, really strong and will give burns. because sometimes it’s also nice to punish with bondage;)

This wasn’t the first first, since I tied up babysitters and such as a child. However, this was the first REAL feeling bondage thing.

I went over to my girlfriends house with a sack of rope and some tape that I had. However I left it in the car instead taking a roll of medical tape with me hidden in my sock under my jeans. We watched tv for a time and when she went to the bathroom I put the plan in action. I got the bag from the car and then hid in the guest bedroom next to the bathroom. She finished up and then left. I then ran up behind her, grabed her right arm and pulled it behind her while pushing right foot into the back of her knee, thus knocking her to the ground. I then twisted her arm until she gave me the left on and having a firm hold of them both I pulled the tape out and taped her wrists together. Then taped her knees together and then her feet. From there It was easy enough to drag her to her room. She had a four post bed with a metal head board and the plan was to tie her to it. (So yes there was pre planning on my part)

Putting her onto the bed I then used tape from the bag to tie her elbows together loosely, then I freed her wrists and through much struggling was able to get her wrists infront of her and tie them loosly, at this point I cut the tape and then tied her wrists much better. Then I tied them to the head board with the knots well out of reach. Her legs were easier, having the knees tied I made my rope cuff tie (french bowline will do) on her ankles and had them loosly tied to the ends of the foot board which once the tape was cut on the knees was easily tightened to keep them apart. From there play time could and did begin.

Important things, we knew eachother for awhile before this and I knew she was okay wiith it. I was top but wouldn’t say dom, and because her shouting stop really would have worked we didn’t have an offical safeword… This was sorta a test thing for us so things were slow and honestly there was a good deal of talk while everything was happening. Aaaannnd finally, I had safety sissors. Also my rope was solid braid nylon at… 1/4th in I belive.

Mine was a bit of both. Premeditated, but I requested it to be a surprise. He had set up the bed with straps, and at some point during the week, he was supposed to capture me, take me to his home, tie me down while I struggled and fought back, just to make it exciting. After I was bound, I was punished when I struggled, either slapped or choked. We had a safe word to ensure trust and practiced it before. I must admit, it was the greatest experience of my life.

My first session went great, maybe even better! Both of us were really into each other; we had a very good connection. There was total trust in each other which was important. I was the dom and his safeword was ‘blue’ which was simple enough.

Since it was our first time not much heavy bondage toys were used. We used basic handcuffs, a blindfold and a vibrator. That was pretty much it. It wasn’t boring at all, no rushing either. We wanted to make it last and made sure we all were having a good time.

HMMMMMMM i all ways fantasized about being tied up will other people were in the next room having a party. and when the first person had me tied and gagged ,then he or she brings in all the rest of the party and they judge, then the door is close and that person get to tease me, when he or she is finish , then the nest person and t hen the nest and then the next, but they can knot tie me in the same position , the winner gets to t take me home for the night of bondage ect ect ect

Of course, safety takes a priority, but checking in on the sub is a must.

I’m imagining if the sub where a man and the dom a woman, she could wear a skirt or dress with no panties and maybe get a quickie while company is over.

If the sub were a woman, the dom could leave her with a remote controlled vibrator in place and play with the remote while else where in the house, if the remote was powerful enough anyway.
